Siamese Cat Necklace – Tatty Devine - £36

Isn’t she a beaut? I have wanted this little necklace for months now – I posted about the brooch version here. I just bit the bullet and bought the necklace a couple of weeks ago, £36 is a lot to spend on jewellery for me – I normally buy my jewels from Primark or Etsy, but I think spending the extra money will probably pay off in the long run.  Hopefully my little cat will be with me for many years to come unlike some of the cheaper jewellery I buy and lose/break.

I want to start a little collection of Tatty Devine jewellery and I think I shall buy a new piece each time I do some overtime at work; I’ve long been an admirer of the brand and think it’s time to invest in pretty neckwear!

Any other Tatty Devine fans in the house?

HAUL: Things that I cannot afford (But love any way!)

May-Haul--MAC-Illamasqua-make-up-beauty-blog-blush-foundation-bronzer-lipstick

L-R: Illamasqua Blusher in Disobey|MAC Lipstick in Chatterbox|MAC Blush in Blushbaby|Illamasqua Skin Base in Shade 2

In my mad panic to look nice for my interview earlier this week I felt the need to buy some new make up, and I don’t do things in half measures.

I’d heard lots about the Illamasqua Skin Base foundation and thought I’d pick it up, I think it cost me £25ish and it’s the first foundation that I’ve ever tried that is actually pale enough for my face (maybe even too pale now it’s warming up a bit!) I’ve not given it a proper test run yet but I will let you know how it goes.

Then I needed a new interview lipstick, Chatterbox has been on my wishlist for years and it’s the perfect mixture of bright pink and a more muted raspberry tone. The amplified finish is lovely, it has a nice sheen to it but is fully opaque and lasts a decent amount of time on the lips.

I then turned to a new contour/blush duo, being a palester finding products to contour with that aren’t too muddy or orange is tricky and I’m afraid to say that Disobey is not perfect – it is quite warm toned but with a light hand and a lot of blending it’s workable.

Blushbaby is my new favourite blush. It’s such a lovely shade of pink with a little bit of brown in there too – perfect for use as both a blush and a contour, it blends to perfection and lasts quite a while on the skin.

MAC Cosmetics

Blushbaby - £14.50

Chatterbox – £13.50

Illamasqua

Disobey - £16.50

Skin Base - £25.00

Do you buy new make-up for special occasions?

Can anyone recommend a contour shade for someone as pale as me?

Models Own Ibiza Mix over Nails Inc Basil Street

I’m back! The interview was yesterday (I think it went well, fingers crossed!) so I thought I’d tart up my interview nails with a bit of glitter. I love this Models Own glitter polish, the mix of colours is perfect for summer and I particularly enjoy that it’s gold based rather than silver. I love the way it looks over the nudey colour too, sophisticated glitter if you will.

Just a side note, how strong do Models Own nail polishes smell?! Haven’t smelled a polish that strong in a while!

The lovely L of Good Morning Angel has tagged me for the Versatile Blogger Award so I thought I’d pop it in now, you have to share seven unknown facts about yourself then tag people to do it too – I’m going to cop out and just tag everyone!

1. I’m crap at  routines, my whole life I’ve tried to get in some kind of routine for various things; blogging, skincare, sleeping… I even have to consciously remind myself to remember to brush my teeth in the mornings and at night!

2. I love going places alone, especially big cities – I love to just walk around and explore at my own pace.

3. I like boys with beards and tattoos preferably, but not exclusively. Can’t beat a bit of a piratey look can you!

4. My life goal is to write a Sociology book so that students have to reference me in their essays.

5. My favourite colours are the Christmas colours, and the school uniform colours.

6. My memory is rubbish and I do nothing to help it, I always forget to make to-do lists so kind of live in a constant state of forgetfulness.

7. My favourite place in this country is Preston, now if you’ve been to Preston you’re probably thinking why?! But as soon as I step off the train there I feel at home, it’s so weird but I think it’s because I grew up there whilst I was at university. I grew as a person there, made mistakes there and most of my favourite memories have Preston in them, I can’t wait until I can go back there!

Make Up For Ever: Smoky Lash Review

008
013
012
Now, I’m not normally the kind of person that gets excited about mascaras but this one, this one is something special. Since I started wearing this a couple of months ago my lashes have never looked better; my short, sparse lashes actually have that false lash effect that everyone goes on about.
008

What They Say:
Smoky Lash enhances lashes, for exceptional volume, infinite length and ultimate curl. Its formula is rich in ultra-fine mineral pigments to create the perfect smoky look: saturated lashes and smouldering eyes. Its ultra wide and dense new generation brush hold a maximum amount of product for instant spectacular lashes.
What I Thought:
  • The wand is the perfect size for my eyes, not too big or fat. This makes it really easy to apply and to get almost every lash, including those in the inner corner and on the bottom lashline.
  • The mascara holds a curl like a dream, my lashes are always still perfectly curled even after 12 hours of wear.
  • It adds length and volume but doesn’t get clumpy if you apply more than one coat, score.
  • My lashes don’t feel crispy when I’m wearing this either, I hate it when that happens.
  • The only downside for me is the price, £17.95 is expensive for a mascara and also it’s hard to get hold of in the UK!
Would I Repurchase?
I would, this mascara makes my lashes look and feel amazing – when I’ve used up all of my other mascaras I will definitely be repurchasing this one.
